A+ P/K/A Andre Levins reigns from Hempstead, New York. He helped to pioneer the way for “child rappers” during the mid 1990’s. As an unsigned artist in New York, he garnished a lot of attention and respect from Record Label Executives by his much talked about performances. In 1995, A+ won a national Talent show sponsored by Def Jam. A+ was brought to the attention of kedar Massenburg by The Smith Brothers, his musical mentors and Production Company. He signed with Kedar Entertainment/Universal Records at the tender age of 12. He was just 13 years old at the time of his debut, “The Latch-Key Child.” A+ exploded on the music scene during a time in Hip-Hop when they weren’t quite ready for a child star. He was the first artist signed to Kedar Entertainment/Universal Records which at the time was headed by Kedar Massenburg (Erica Badu, Chico Debarge, India Arie, Joe and D’Angelo). The Latch-Key Child Album is still considered an Industry classic by many. His smash single, “All I See” reached the number 5 spot on the Billboard Rap Charts in 1996. The album included contributions from Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest), Prodigy (Mobb Deep) and AZ. He followed–up this album in 1998 with his sophomore release entitled “Hempstead High.”

This album would go on to acclaim international success. His single “Enjoy your self” burned up the charts in UK and Japan. The album featured Chico Debarge, Mr. Cheeks, MJG, and Joe. After a premature departure from the music industry, A+ is returning after a decade. Many fans around the world have been calling for his return. He has finally reunited with the Smith Brothers to present to the world what he promises will be the best comeback of all times. Among the crop of young artists that have come and gone, he considers himself to be the “Last Man Standing.” His objective is to redirect hip hop and revive the greatness that it once possessed. A+ stated, “A lot people think that Hip hop is dead, but it ain’t dead, it’s just been sleeping for the past decade.” The Hip Hop world will certainly be proud of one of the early young pioneers of rap as he unleashes his new long-awaited album. According to A+, He is making this album for the people that have supported him and for the future of Hip hop! The New Album is coming soon…get ready.
